A messenger for chatting with your AI agents from your phone, tablet, Mac, or Android — built by a small team that wanted exactly that.

What Zucchini is

Zucchini is a small, focused app: a real messenger UI sitting on top of your AI agents — like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, Hermes, and Pi. You open a chat, pick an agent, type a task, and it spawns in a project folder on one of your own machines. The reply streams back into the chat. Pin chats, mark unread, search, switch devices — same conversation, every screen.

Shared machines are the idea the whole app is built around: set up one machine and invite people to it, and they get working agents on it with nothing to install — no Mac, no setup, no terminal.

Your agents themselves never leave your computer. Only the encrypted chat envelopes travel through our backend so the conversation can appear on all your devices. The local helper that runs your agents on your machine — zucchini-spawner — is open source and the only Zucchini component we distribute to users.

Who builds it

Zucchini is built by a small team at Hayaku Tech Limited. The first version started as a personal tool. AI agents like Claude Code live in a terminal — sessions are scrollback in whichever shell you opened them in, with no list of past chats, no unread, no search, and the next message has to be typed at the same keyboard. Zucchini wraps that into a messenger: every task is its own chat with a real list, search, and pinning, and you can send the next prompt from your phone while the laptop sits there running the spawner.

Trust & transparency

Zucchini is live on the App Store with real users on real devices. A few things we lean on:

• End-to-end encryption. Message bodies, chat titles, and drafts are encrypted on your device with XChaCha20-Poly1305 before they reach our servers. We store ciphertext. See the privacy policy for the full breakdown.
• Open-source spawner. The only piece of Zucchini that runs on your computer is published in full at github.com/zucchini-chat/zucchini-spawner so you can read it before you install it.
• Crash reports only. The iOS and Android apps and the open-source spawner all send crash reports to our own Sentry project — that's the only telemetry. No analytics SDKs, no cross-site trackers, no ad pixels. Because the spawner is open source, every payload it sends is auditable before you install it.
• Your agent billing is yours. Agent usage is billed directly through your own account with each provider — Anthropic for Claude Code, OpenAI for Codex, and so on. Zucchini Pro is purely the subscription that unlocks unlimited concurrent agents in the app.
